A crazy professor and inventor, tired of no one taking him seriously, decides to go town by town to show his prodigies, never seen before. He chooses to do it inside the caravan of a traveling circus company. As you can imagine, everythings ends in a disastrous mishap.
“The Caravan of Dr. Masterfil” was born from the union between the puppet company Eudald Ferré and the circus and clown company Cia. Pasabarret, both based in Valls (Tarragona, Spain). This installation creates an exhibition space where the public can see puppet performances within a unique space (microtheatre), as the caravan is the stage for Dr. Masteril’s laboratory where he develops all his stupidities (or wonders, you decide).
It is a “total show” with a duration of fifteen minutes per session, and which transports us to the imagination of the fairs of the 50s, but with the clownish madness of the circus and details typical of the freak galleries that went hand in hand with the growth of American circuses in the first half of the 20th century.
