Presentation by the author: María Ángeles Marchirán

María Ángeles Marchirán presents the book "Production and distribution of performing arts. Notes from experience". One of the few books dedicated to the field of performing arts distribution, a profession still unknown and invisible inside and outside the sector. Its author has wanted to reflect in writing not only his professional experience, but all kinds of advice, anecdotes and notes about the lights and shadows of selling shows from a prism that goes far beyond the commercial transaction . An "accompanying manual", as she calls it herself, that talks about the intense and careful work behind the date of a performance. A reference book for professionals in the sector and for aspiring professionals.

Activity to publicize circus proposals from Catalan companies and from the rest of the State to Catalan, state and international programming managers. The meetings will be organized by thematic tables according to the type of artistic proposals (type of audience they are aimed at, stage space they require, etc.). Each table will have several programmers and companies that will explain their shows in 7 minutes.

The aim is to facilitate, in a professional environment, knowledge of the diversity of currently existing circus proposals to those responsible for programming. These are initial contacts that want to foster and facilitate professional relationships between companies and theaters, town halls and festivals.

• Meeting between programmers and circus companies, organized by thematic tables according to the type of artistic proposals. Each company will have 6 minutes to present their show.
• Thursday, May 9 from 10:45 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
• Exclusive activity for members of the APCC, of the other CircoRED member associations and for companies scheduled at Fira Trapezi 2024.
• Registration deadline for companies and programmers: May 5
• Limited places. They will be assigned in order of registration.
• Only one person from each company can register.
• Confirmation of places and the assigned table will be made a few days before the activity (approximate date: May 7).

Vermouth PRO

At the end of the meeting between professionals, a vermouth will be offered and it will be the time to start new conversations or continue pending ones in a more relaxed way. This meeting is open to all professionals registered at Fira Trapezi.

BDC - Barcelona Cultural District

The 15th autumn edition of the Barcelona Cultural District programs more than 200 sessions for the general public, including complementary activities and sessions for school audiences. The program, extensive and plural, revolves around thirty-four new proposals that include circus shows. There are more than 230 functions with sessions for schools and institutes included and a series of complementary activities such as colloquiums, presentations or workshops.

Professional presentation of "Ale-hop", a series dedicated to the Catalan circus in the framework of the Trapezi fair with 3CAT, Createl production company and ICEC. It will be a summary passage and a meeting of the artists who participated.

Showcase

La Palma will host the showcase of this year's fair, continuing with the success obtained in the previous edition. Professionals who wish will be able to see the presentation of 10 to 20-minute extracts of shows that are in the creation phase or recently premiered.

We invite all registered professionals to an informal lunch. It is the meeting point that includes all agents: artists, technical teams, programmers, organizers, institutional staff, etc. We create the right space to encourage conversations around the table.

Closing PRO Lunch with Les Couchers

The company Les Couchers will energize the closing of the PRO Lunch with a fragment of their show. Programmer, artist, distributor, in short, industry professional, fed up with so many meetings, shows, presentations and meals? Tired of difficult digestions at the fair? Couchers are the exits, I mean, your exit. With their innovative techniques and their special wisdom, they will teach you how to handle yourself. They won't change your life and maybe not the fair either, but they'll make you laugh at it!
